Final cut of Myra is complete, festival run beginning
Date: 12/10/2010
With the last few minutes of original music being placed over the library chase and hotel room confrontation scenes, the final cut of Myra is officially complete! The film comes in at a total run time of 100 minutes including the credits and blooper reel. The next stop for Myra is a festival run. The film has been submitted to over half-a-dozen film festivals around the country and, if accepted, will be screening in the spring and summer quarters. The film is recognized as an independent feature and, likewise, is capable of being picked up for distribution if an outside company deems it profitable; and considering the film's $630 production budget, turning a "profit" shouldn't be a difficult task. There are multiple distribution options being considered for the film outside of independent DVD sales, and as more news becomes available regarding them, you can be it will all be readable right here!

2/19 Test-screening of Myra goes great, film is well-received
Date: 2/21/2010
The lobby and hallways of the University of Akron's student union were jam packed with more than 250 people who showed up to get the first glimpse of the temporary cut of Myra. After a long battle with the projector and sound equipment, the show finally got started around 8:15pm Friday night and concluded with a brief cast Q&A session immediately after. The film was well-received and with only a few minor changes that need to be made to the cut, it shouldn't be long before the film can begin its festival circuit. A second screening will be held today at the same location after a performance by the film's featured artist, Drenalin, at 5:30pm. If you didn't get a chance to come out Friday and see the film's current cut, be sure to stop out today for the second test-screening of the weekend!

New redux version of the trailer is released on multiple outlets
Date: 12/11/2009
Way back in September, the first theatrical trailer for Myra was released to the masses on YouTube, Facebook, Myspace, and of course here at myrathemovie.com. Since then, much work has taken place in the post production process including ADR, sound effects, and color correction; and as this continues to progress
Myra towards its February 19, 2010 premier at FilmFest 2380, an amazing achievement for the film as well as The 2380 Project has occurred. A redux (recut) version of the theatrical trailer released less than three months ago is now available via all the websites listed above! This version not only includes some alternative angles of scenes in the film, but also offers a glimpse into the color correction and overall "look" of what will be the final product come February 19. In addition to this, whereas the original trailer was only available via the internet, the redux trailer is also available to all Northeast Ohio Time Warner Cable subscribers! By tuning into Channel 501, viewers can select the trailer (in the "Entertainment" section) and watch it anytime they wish, right on their televisions. It's a major step in the progress of the movie as well as the exposure and recognition of The 2380 Project, and as everything continues with the post production work, we can only hope that this is just the beginning of more great things to come! If you haven't done so already, be sure to check out the newly recut trailer now available in the "
Videos" section of the site.

Date: 6/28/2009

Music to our ears: Scott Ross and Neil Zaza agree to compose music for Myra
Date: 4/15/2009
From the initial days of production on Myra, director Michael Campanizzi has stressed the importance of a professionally produced soundtrack for the film. Well it looks like he got exactly what he wanted! After a brief meeting at The Audio Kitchen, a music production studio in Akron, OH, musicians Scott Ross and Neil Zaza agreed to compose Myra's soundtrack for the final production! Ross, who just released a new album titled Longer Days, contacted Campanizzi personally about collaborating with him and Zaza after seeing the Myra website and being "impressed by the work of the crew." Zaza, who has done work with such artists as Jorden Rudess, Michael Anthony, and Peter Frampton, owns The Audio Kitchen and plans on working with both Ross and Campanizzi there to put together the soundtrack. Even as principal photography continues, the three plan on working together in the next two weeks as more and more footage comes in to ensure the best possible music to complement the film. In addition to the film's soundtrack, Ross has also agreed to compose the music that will be used in the teaser-trailer rumored to be playing at Film Fest 2380. Principal photography begins for Myra
Date: 2/6/2009
Lights! Camera! Action! Just under four months from the day the film was chosen, principal photography for Myra has finally begun! With a tentative twelve-day shooting schedule ahead calling for such locations as rooftops to observatories, the filmmakers are hoping for the filming of Myra, with some help from the ever-so-unpredictable Ohio weather, to be complete by April. Achieving this goal will line it up perfectly for the post-production work that must take place and for the film's ultimate goal of a film festival circuit. Be on the lookout for announcements and other information regarding the film and who knows, maybe you'll see the crew themselves shooting around Northeast Ohio!

Final cast chosen, rehearsals taking place
Date: 12/14/2008
And then there were nine... After long deliberations and hours of reviewing the numerous audition and call-back tapes, the final cast for
Myra has been chosen! The cast, as director Michael Campanizzi puts it, is "loaded with talent! We've got actors that many people will recognize from commercials they've seen on TV, to films they've seen at festivals, to even films they've seen in theaters! I'm very pleased with our final cast." The calls were made late on Sunday night and, he continues, "it is apparent that the cast is just as excited about
Myra as the crew; something
very important for good chemistry on the set of the film." The biographies for the primary roles have been uploaded to the site and can be accessed by clicking the "
Cast & Crew Bios" link above. With the cast now finally chosen, numerous rehearsals will be taking place leading up to the actual filming of the movie.
